After much, MUCH debate between Craig and myself, we have finally agreed on a name for our daughter (drum roll please):
Zamara Liyana Ducommun
Zamara is from a Hebrew word meaning "guarded by God". We feel this was appropriate since God has been protecting our daughter from the moment she was born. Both Craig and I feel strongly about the meanings behind names.
Liyana is the name that she was given in Ethiopia. It is a beautiful name and we wanted to keep it so that she would have a connection to her past.
For all of you who voted for a name, thanks for your ideas! Some of you will be happy that your name "won" while others are sure to be disappointed. Well, were happy with it and we hope our little Zamara will enjoy it too.

Hey, I also love the name! Still praying for court dates and some travel plans!
I also was reading on your brothers blog about his trip: WHAT A BLESSING!! I am so jealouse; my husband and I want to be in Africa with some mission type work someday (i'm thinking after 5 kids maybe :) ... or maybe not!:)) So wonderful that your family has such a heart for the least of these! Come on MOWA!
Blessings, Jori
Ok ... so I have been praying and on pins and needles over here. Do we have a court date set???

Such a beautiful name. I'll be up in Flag 4th of July weekend, but only for the light show on Friday night and Saturday day. Laura, can I get coffee with you and catch up?
Such a beautiful name...and the meaning is incredible!
Can't wait to see pictures and read about you bringing your little girl home!
